Hillary doesn’t play fair January 29, 2008

Posted by Paul Edwards in Hillary Rodham Clinton.
trackback

When Florida moved up its primary date the Democratic Party stripped them of their delegates and ALL of the Democratic candidates agreed NOT to campaign in the state in advance of today’s primary.

But of course the rules don’t apply to Hillary Rodham Clinton who has been operating a stealth campaign in the state for weeks, winning the Democratic Primary there tonight in a landslide and now saying today she will fight to get Florida’s delegates restored.

If Hillary can’t keep her word to her own party, how can she be trusted to keep her word as president?

They won’t give her the delegates, but it does say somethig about her desparation. Obama is surging…..

2. Iggy - January 30, 2008

Yeah, Bush did everything upstanding when he ran too, push polling, the lies about McCain’s illegit child and let’s not forget swift boat scandle in 2004 as well, to name only a few of the many.

Hilary or Obama will be 10 times the president that Bush has been.

3. Karl Fehn - January 30, 2008

To think that Democrats like Hilary or Obama would be a better President then President Bush is either bias or blind to the facts. Both Hilary and Obama lack experience period, end of story. Picking on President Bush is not going to help Hilary or Ohama.

In regards to Hilary not keeping her word, I am not surprised, given her past.

You know, I never really like President Clinton and I disagreed with him on many things, but I never disrespected him as much as many of the people who dislike President Bush. These people tend to be down right hateful.

President Bush is not perfect, but he has done much to help this country and it is too bad that people on the extreme right or left can’t be more understanding of the work of the President, no matter which party is in control.

In my opinion, if you want to blame someone, you should look at Congress too. Congress don’t seem to be getting much done lately.

Clinton’s lies didn’t kill thousands, Bush and Chaney’s distroyed a country displaced millions and killed many hundreds of thousands of lives. There is a difference morally.

To making charges against the Bush Administration that can not proved. Sorry, I am a person who not a big fan of Monday morning quarterbacks that think the world should have see it coming after the fact. I can’t prove they didn’t lie, but I am be honest which you are not that you. You can not know the truth of their thoughts and actions without being personally in all their discussions. To say they lied is conspiracy talk which in reality should be left to the movies and other fiction medias.

History will tell and NOT Monday morning quarterbacks that are not honestly in really knowing the direct discussions that happened with President Bush and Vice President Chaney on the Iraq war. President Bush is not perfect, NO ONE is, and besides President Bush did not get the US into the Iraq war, Senator Hilary saw much of the same intelligence (which of course todays Monday morning quarterback like to point out was flawed) and Hilary along with many Democrats and other nations around the world decided that Iraq needed to be dealt with. The after war plan was a mess, but I don’t have any proof to believe any political send our troop into harms way for anything other then our countries national security. (Which I know many will question the ways it went down and the way it has helped or not help this nation’s security, but that is a whole other debate.)

But back to the reason for Paul’s comments on Hilary, is that she is trying to convince this nation to vote for her, but President Bush. Picking on Bush is just bashing that avoids the topic at hand, the fact if we can trust Hilary or not.

Sound like Karl LOVES to was FoxOpinion(er FoxNews) because his logic is flawed and without critical thinking. Keep getting your info from only the right and enjoy keeping your head in the sand.

7. Iggy - February 4, 2008

congrats Karl, you have taken a page out of Karl Rove’s playbook. I heard him on FoxNews a few weeks back actually trying to put the blame on the Democrats for this war. The facts bear out when you look at the comments of Hilary and the Dems that voted for the resolution that it was based ONLY on the condition of WMD’s being found. We all know, for a FACT, there were none. It appears your only news sources are from the extreme right as your comments clearly show this to be.

BTW, I know they didn’t because the right now is saying they were false statements, not lies. I find information on the right so amazingly funny in how they cover up the truth with speculation and unintended mishandlings.

8. Karl Fehn - February 7, 2008

Sounds like some people above need to looks a little further then the liberal new media in this country and be a little more honest about facts and conspiracies. I actually don’t watch FOXNews, just thought I correct that fact for you also. I also am not a big fan Karl Rove (even if he has a good first name). There was a lot of misunderstanding (now that we can play Monday Morning quarterback as some above want to do) in the intelligence of the WMD’s in Iraq, but the Clinton Administration before Bush can be quoted as saying Iraq pocesses,

“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.” President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.

“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.” Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.” Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.

And after the Clinton Administration, there were also others outside the Bush Administration that had similar quotes.

“We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.” Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seing and developing weapons of mass destruction.” Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.

I could go on, but that would take up too much space and time. A simple search for quotes from the Clinton Administration, other Democrates, Germany, Russia, France can be found all believing Iraq had WMD’s before and during the Bush Administration.

Pixelmaster, what critical thing and logic are you using?
Iggy, what playbook are you coming from?

Just because the liberal media, most Democrats (I wouldn’t want to be critical of all Democrats sine there are a couple that are willing to admit the truth on these things),and the liberal left-wing wants to continue to repeat their lies over and over again until people start to think these lies might be true. Sorry, I am not willing to let my beliefs base on people spins without really looking into the truth. If you can prove it, then prove it like I just did above. If not, stop spreading the conspiracy’s, they are not helping the the debate and not bring any real substance to this debate.

I just think it is funny that when you want to talk about an issue of the character and behaviors of someone, that other people want to bring other people characters to the debate to avoid this real issue at hand. Which if you look at the topic as it was written by Paul above, is about Hilary Clinton, not President Bush or anyone else. Sorry, I try to stick the the facts and topic at hand, not try to change it around on someone else avoiding what topic. If you don’t like the topic of this blog, try a different one.

And since this blog was about Hilary Clinton, how about one last quote from her.

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including “al Qaeda”members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.” Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

How Senator Hilary Clinton has changed her song on this tune also?

9. Greg Rice - February 8, 2008

Iggy,

If there were no WMDs in Iraq before the war, why are there thousands of people buried in mass graves at the hands of Saddam? Also, why did Bill Clinton want to invade Iraq in 1998?

This is getting very old. When Bill Clinton was caught in a pack of lies, the left praised him for the skill with which he lied. By the left’s own standard (a foreign concept to many of them), shouldn’t George Bush be praised?

We as a culture have completely lost the concept of absolutes. It’s no wonder very few of us with opposing viewpoints can even have a civil conversation. Whatever happened to debating on the basis of proven facts? Instead we throw personal accusations around like frizbees on the beach. All this does is stifle those who are too timid to face obnoxious attacks from those who disagree with them. I’m afraid that this has come about because we as a culture have abandoned the concept of objective truth. We have made the shift to subjective truth so completely that true dialog is no longer possible because the possibility of any common ground cannot ever be determined and verified.

Until we get back the concept of objective truth, all the debate and discussion of any substantive concepts is futile. Check you foundations and shore them up, if you find they need it.

10. Iggy - February 12, 2008

There is no question that the issue of Saddam needed addressing, this administration however neglected the necessary steps of following the Just war theory. You know that christian concept of only going to war when certain criteria is met? This was not done, this administration played on everyones fear of terrorism to go to war with Iraq. What of Paul O’Neil who was in Bush’s cabinet stating that Iraq was a goal within 10 days of Bush taking the White House. What of all the money made in this war from Bush and Chaney associates? Blackwater, Halliburton, etc. Regarding the Monday morning QB comment, this stuff sometimes takes time to compile. As I stated Clintons lies didn’t cost countless lives(Iraqi and American) and cost this country trillions. BTW I am not a Clinton fan, I like Ron Paul and then maybe Obama. I think Clinton, McCain and even Huckabee are more of the same.

On a little different topic those who might consider McCain as a candidate, he is considering John Bolton as Sec of State. The guy who thinks Iraq was great, we should do the same to Iran and Bush’s negotiating with North Korea was a bad idea. Understand the Sec of State is suppose to be a peace maker, Bolton is a nutcase, please consider and look into him if you are considering pulling the lever on McCain.
