“Have you heard about the revival in Lakeland, Florida?” That’s a question I was recently asked, and my honest reply was, “No.” But a simple Google search revealed the un-biblical nature of Todd Bentley’s so-called “revival.”
The following is a video of Todd Bentley describing the various violent acts God allegedly told him to commit so that people could be healed. How does any of this square with any healing you read about in the New Testament?
The Technology Trance June 3, 2008

The Illuminati is a selection of photos by photographer Evan Baden that show young people seemingly mesmerized by the glow of their electronic devices. Evan explains his project:
In Westernized cultures today, there is a generation that is growing up without the knowledge of what it is to be disconnected. The world in which we are growing up is always on. We are continuously plugged in, and linked up. We take this technology for granted. Not because we are ungrateful, but because we simply don’t know a world without it.
From our earliest memories, there has always been a way to connect with others, whether it is Myspace, Facebook, cell phones, e-mail, or instant messenger. And now, with the Internet, instant messaging, and e-mail in our pocket, right there with our phones, we can always feel as if we are part of a greater whole. These devices grace us with the ability to instantly connect to others, and at the same time, they isolate us from those with whom we are connected. They allow for great freedom, yet so often, we are chained to them. They have become part of who we are and how we identify ourselves. These devices ordain us with a wealth of knowledge and communication that would have been unbelievable a generation ago. More and more, we are bathed in a silent, soft, and heavenly blue glow. It is as if we carry divinity in our pockets and purses.
The subjects in Evan’s images are disturbingly engrossed by their electronic devices, and glassy-eyed, they seem hypnotized or drugged. Their faces, made cadaverous by the artificial light, are expressionless, suggesting that, as we become more connected by our electronics, we become less connected to our immediate surroundings. This leaves us to wonder: do we own our electronics, or do they own us?

“The Shack” Author Interview June 2, 2008

“The Shack” is the talk of the evangelical Christian community right now. Originally self-published by the author and intended solely as a gift for his six children, the fictional account of a troubled man’s meeting with God in an abandoned shack in the Oregon wilderness is now number 8 at Amazon and just today hit number one on The New York Times paperback trade fiction list.
But does the diaglogue between “God” and the lead character “Mack” subtlely introduce theological error regarding the authority of Scripture, the nature of the Trinity, the dual nature of Jesus Christ as God/Man, the exclusivity of Jesus Christ as the only Savior, the wrath of God against sin - especially in terms of what Jesus actually accomplished on the cross, and Eastern/New Age Mysticism? Wayne Jacobsen, a collaborator on the book along with the author, William Paul Young, has responded to these allegations in a recent post at his Lifestream blog.
William Paul Young, the author of The Shack, will be my guest for the full first hour of The Paul Edwards Program on Monday, June 2.
