KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A man says he was so consumed by the spirit of God that he fell and hit his head while worshipping.

Now he wants Lakewind Church to pay $2.5 million for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering.

Matt Lincoln says he is suing after the church’s insurance company denied his claim for medical bills.

The 57-year-old has had two surgeries since the June 2007 injury but still feels pain in his back and legs.

He says he was asking God to have “a real experience” while praying.

Lincoln says he has fallen from the force of the spirit before but has always been caught by someone.

Lawyers for the church say other congregants saw him on the floor laughing after his fall. They say he failed to look out for his own safety.

This seesm to pop up in regular intervals, and is becomng a spectator sport, watching Christianity, as we know it today, self destruct. We need heaven sent revival.

Sillies to the right of me, sillies to the left…I choose to always fall into the loving arms of my Heavenly Father, who catches me EVERY time.

He might have been “consumed” but the source was a different spirit than the one alluded to.

On a different note; Should there be anything positive found in a Obama presidency, perhaps a segment of society may break free from the “rainbow” ideology and track in the Bill Cosby position. Mr Obama appears to fall in this thinking more so than many of his predecessors.

Mr. Pixelmaster, Even if you agree, please don’t disapoint me. I’m in a great mood this morning.

All I can say is, I think there will be more positives from Obama than McCain. However that is not saying much at all…..let’s vote Chuck Baldwin

Lawyers, this man’s claim has no merit. The Spirit of GOD will never allow you to fall and cause an injury. This man fell on his own. So many people get caught up in the thought of being slain in the Spirit because it looks like something. This man has an idea of what it looks like but he failed to get saved and receive the POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST. Sir, (plaintiff) you clearly have no idea what power you are dealing with. You won’t win this lawsuit. I’d also advise the plaintiff’s counsel to pull back as well. You are about to lose everything. Matthew 15:14 “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” The plaintiff needs to be saved.

Pix,
I’m with you, Church Baldwin all the way!

Colin was that a booboo or should we pay attention…Church may be a Great pastor…but President???? How will he deal with Foreign Affairs?
I recommend that we keep him as pastor this time around and let him try out again later.

McCain can’t tell shia from sunni, and he is going to be better?

Sure Pixel, and if you disagree with Obama on a position, wait around 15 minutes and he will contradict himself and change itl. Not a great choice on either hand, but unless your idea of positives in an Obama presidency include continued energy dependence, weakened national defense, a more intrusive government and higher taxes, it is hard to see how Obama would be preferable.

10. Pixelmaster - July 16, 2008

Higher taxes for whom? the ultra rich?

Continued energy dependence? Obama is the only one calling for energy independence. The Bush/McCain plan of offshore drilling is ludicrous for several reasons, 1 it all about control for the Oil buddies, they have several fields already that they are not using. 2. the Oil will not go to us as American’s it will go to the Multinational Oil corps, 3. Even the Bush Dept of energy says it will have minimal effect until 2030 and even then it will be a couple of pennies per gallon. Propagnda from the Oil giants my friend.

Weakened national defense - All war all the time eh, very Christian like my friend. Obama endorse discussion, it has worked in the past many times, it can work in the future, military might will only hurt us not help.

While I agree with you that neither are good choices I am only speaking against what are right wing talking points and incorrect framing of issues, like Obama hates America
